Creating a bespoke diamond engagement ring with Harry & Allison

We recently had the pleasure of assisting a beautiful couple, Harry & Allison, with creating their new forever engagement ring.

Read on for an exclusive interview, which details their special proposal journey and experience with our Morgan & Co Bespoke Team.

Which ring did you choose/design for your forever piece, and why?

"Round Solitaire - it’s simple, elegant and timeless."

Allison's ring showcases a DVVS brilliant round diamond with excellent cut, polish, and symmetry, making it a true eye-catcher with its endless sparkle. Her beautiful diamond is set in a design inspired by our Ash-Lea Ring.

Was there anything in particular that drew you to work with us?

"We tried other jewellers but they felt ‘off the shelf’ and not personalised at all. We were drawn in by your bespoke and custom jewellery."

Where did you and your partner meet?

"In Orange NSW, on a university placement."

Tell us a little bit about your proposal.

"Enjoying a long weekend away together in northern NSW, we went for a nice walk along the beach after checking in to our glamping tent. Allison was preoccupied taking a photo of a pattern on the sand, she turned around and I was on my knee."

What was your favourite part of your Morgan & Co experience?

"Engaging with people who want to get to know us and to customise our ring to our needs and preferences."

Creating A Radiant Cut Diamond Engagement Ring With Stevie & Mosese

We recently had the pleasure of assisting a beautiful couple, Stevie & Mosese, with creating their new forever engagement ring.

Read on for an exclusive interview, which details their special proposal journey and experience with our Morgan & Co Bespoke Team.

Was there anything in particular that drew you to work with us?

"When we saw your marketing and Instagram. It is what made us want to work with you. It was exactly our vibe".

Which ring did you choose/design for your forever piece, and why?

"We chose a beautiful radiant cut diamond set east to west. When we saw the diamond we immediately fell in love with it and it looked so stunning on my hand."

Stevie's chosen design was a 4 claw radiant diamond set in an east to west setting.

What was your favourite part of your Morgan & Co experience?

"The initial consultation was the best part for us. We both learnt so much from Laura and she made us feel so comfortable. The studio is absolutely gorgeous and I had such a good experience trying all different styles to find the perfect ring for me."

Tell us a little bit about your proposal.

"Mosese proposed at home, he set up the house with candles, lights, rose pedals, balloons and a photo of us and a card for me to read. When I finished reading the card he was behind me down on one knee. It was very intimate and special. We then celebrated with our friends and family over the weekend."

An Interview with Laura, Co-owner of Morgan & Co

An Interview with Laura, Co-owner of Morgan & Co

Welcome to our latest blog featuring an interview with Laura, one of the co-owners of Morgan & Co, a bespoke jewellery design studio nestled on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. From designing engagement rings that tell a love story to crafting meaningful pieces that hold a lifetime of memories, our journey has been shaped by a deep desire to offer clients something truly special. In this interview, Laura shares her inspiration behind Morgan & Co, what sets their jewellery studio apart from others in the industry, and the dedication Laura brings to every detail, from sourcing diamonds to ensuring the perfect client experience.

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind starting your jewellery design studio and what keeps you motivated?

"The inspiration behind starting Morgan & Co jewellery design studio was born from  a deep passion for creating meaningful pieces that tell a story for our clients.

I am passionate about listening to our clients' stories and history and from there  designing unique pieces that resonate on an emotional level. I gain so much pleasure  seeing a concept come to life from sketch to finished piece, each ring  or remodel.

My motivation behind our business really lies in creating lasting symbols of love, commitment, and style. Whether it is an engagement ring, wedding band or a bespoke piece, all fine jewellery fuels my passion."

What sets your jewellery apart from others in the market?

"We understand that creating the perfect engagement ring can be a daunting task and what sets us apart is our Ring Guarantee — if our client designs a ring for their loved one, and for any reason their partner isn’t completely thrilled with the design, we will remake it free of charge using the existing stones. This helps our clients, especially the men, feel confident in their decision, as well as keeping the surprise element to their proposal. We understand that designing an engagement ring is a significant moment, and we want it to be absolutely perfect. No jewellery company I know offers such a unique promise.

Additionally, we offer discreet consultations, in the privacy of our Buderim-based studio. This allows our clients to explore our collection of engagement rings in a comfortable and pressure-free environment. Our goal is to create a supportive and welcoming atmosphere where our clients feel empowered to express their love and commitment through a meaningful and thoughtfully chosen engagement ring."

What factors do you consider when selecting diamonds for your pieces?

"When sourcing diamonds for our clients we consider several key factors to  ensure the best brilliance and quality. Brace yourself, you're asking me one of my favourite questions and I have a lot to talk about when it comes to diamond sourcing!!

The first things I look for when choosing the right diamond is the four C's — Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. A diamond’s cut affects its brilliance and overall beauty. Sourcing diamonds with a precise, high-quality cut ensures that the stone will reflect light optimally and sparkle brilliantly in any setting. At Morgan & Co, we only source our clients colourless, or near colourless, diamonds. My aim is always to find  eye-clean stones, meaning no imperfections are visible to the naked eye. Rather than focus on carat weight, I like to take into consideration the mm’s of the stone. The last thing anyone wants is a stone where the weight is located in the bottom of the stone and not on the surface of the stone.

I only source diamonds that come with certification from reputable gemological institutes, such as the GIA and IGI. These certificates guarantee that the diamond’s quality and characteristics have been independently verified, giving our clients peace of mind.

We are  also conscious that our clients prioritise ethically sourced diamonds. We   ensure that the diamonds we select are conflict-free. We also work with suppliers who emphasise sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.

The final thing when purchasing a diamond for a client is their budget. No one wants to talk about money, however, understanding your client’s budget and preferences is key to sourcing the right diamond. Knowing the price range our clients are happy to sit within helps me work to maximise value by balancing the 4 Cs, offering recommendations on where it’s worth investing more and where compromises can be made without sacrificing beauty.

I find that by considering these factors, we can ensure that each diamond we source aligns with your client’s vision, while maintaining ethical standards and delivering top-notch diamonds."

What trends do you see in engagement rings and fine jewellery currently?

"Current trends in engagement rings and fine jewellery reflect a mix of timeless elegance and modern individuality, with clients seeking unique, personalised pieces that tell a story. However, we have seen a move away from the finer bands for engagement rings to more of a thicker, or chunky, band. Our girls are venturing away from the traditional solitaire setting to a more off set, Art Deco inspirations and also lots of east to west settings, in bezel settings and claw settings.

We have seen a shift away from the larger diamonds to smaller, or natural diamonds. Bigger is sometimes not always better.

Another trend that has been gaining momentum is choosing coloured stone over diamonds. We have created engagement rings which have featured Australian sapphires, garnets, ruby and emeralds. I love a splash of colour in a forever ring.

There has also been a lot of buzz around salt and pepper diamonds and lately we have had a client choose a black diamond as their centre stone with white diamonds as the accent stones, divine."

What advice would you give to someone looking to purchase an engagement ring?

"Purchasing an engagement ring is a big decision, both emotionally and financially. I find that the subject of ‘how much should I spend?’ is very intimidating for many of our clients. The ‘three month’s salary’ rule is outdated, instead it is important to focus on what makes sense for your financial situation. We can create a beautiful ring within your limits without unnecessary stress.

My next advice I would give is to work with a trusted jewellery designer, like Morgan & Co. We have a lifetime manufacturer guarantee and free ring inspection and cleaning with every ring we design.

We only make custom rings which allows us to add that personal touch, we are masters of bringing our clients' vision to life. We pride ourselves on taking time to understand what our clients' needs and wants are and delivering that dream with precision.

Oh, one of the most important questions we ask, apart from ring size is, what type of wedding band will she like on her wedding day? Many times we have unhappy girls come in with rings from other companies looking for a wedding and that will fit under their engagement ring. In many cases there will be only a few wedding bands that will accommodate a low set ring. At Morgan & Co, all of our engagement rings can accommodate whatever our girl's heart desires."

What challenges have you faced as a female entrepreneur in the jewellery industry?

"To be honest not many. Probably the only challenge was gaining the respect of older men within the jewellery industry. The jewellery business has in the past been predominantly run by men. Usually family businesses passed on from generation to generation. The diamond industry is the same."

Can you share a moment when you felt particularly proud of your business or an accomplishment?

"Recently we were commissioned to make a well known Australian artist a very unique ring for his wife. The design took many weeks to create. Many hours of sketching and re-sketching to get all the design elements that the client wanted into the ring. I was so proud of the end result, so proud of our team who spent many hours refining the design and producing a one of a kind masterpiece."

Can you describe your typical customer and the type of jewellery they are interested in?

"There is no such thing as a typical customer. Our clientele are from all walks of life, with their own history and stories. However, we are predominantly engagement rings, wedding bands, remodels and one of a kind jewellery designers."

How do you define success for yourself and your business?

"Success for myself and the business comes down to one thing, a very happy client. Without fulfilling our clients' needs to the letter we would not have a successful business."

Laura is incredibly proud of the jewellery she creates and the relationships she builds along the way, and she looks forward to continuing to craft meaningful and timeless pieces for many more clients in the years to come. Book your free consultation with Laura.

How Much Should an Engagement Ring Cost in 2024?

How Much Should an Engagement Ring Cost in 2024?

As a jewellery designer at Morgan & Co, I often get asked, “How much should I spend on an engagement ring?” It's one of the most common questions, and understandably so — buying an engagement ring is a deeply personal and emotional investment, and the financial aspect can be daunting. In 2024, the answer to this question remains as nuanced as ever, but let me break it down for you.

Forget the "Three Months' Salary Rule"

You’ve probably heard the traditional rule that suggests spending three months’ salary on an engagement ring. While this might have been a guideline in decades past, I believe it’s outdated in today’s world. Everyone's financial situation is different, and it’s important that you find a balance between choosing a meaningful, high-quality ring and staying within your personal budget. At Morgan & Co, we always recommend that you don’t go into debt to buy a ring — there are so many options that can suit your style without stretching your finances too thin. We work within your budget to recommend styles and options that best suit your desired ring and price range, ensuring you get a design you love without exceeding what you're comfortable spending.

Average Engagement Ring Costs in 2024

In 2024, the average cost of an engagement ring can vary widely depending on where you are and what type of diamond or gemstone you choose. On average, many people spend between $5,000 and $10,000 on an engagement ring, but there's no one-size-fits-all number. Some might opt for a simpler, more affordable design in the $2,000 to $3,000 range, while others might choose to invest in a higher carat diamond or intricate custom designs, pushing the cost upwards. At Morgan & Co, our custom designs start from approximately $5,500 and depending on diamond or gemstone size and quality, it goes up from there.

It's also worth mentioning that lab-grown diamonds are increasingly popular and can provide a more affordable option while still offering the same brilliance and durability as mined diamonds.

What Should You Prioritise?

When deciding on how much to spend, it's important to consider what you value most. Is it the carat size of the diamond? The cut? Perhaps you're more interested in a unique design that suits your partner's personal style, or maybe you’d rather focus on ethically sourced materials like lab-grown diamonds.

At Morgan & Co, we work closely with each client to find the right balance. We’ve had clients fall in love with a lower-carat diamond that’s perfectly proportioned, while others might prioritise clarity and cut over size. It’s really about finding what resonates with you and your partner.

Sometimes a client may come in wanting a trilogy engagement ring, for instance, but their budget is around the $6,000 mark. In this case, we might recommend putting the money into one solitaire diamond so you're not spreading your money over three diamonds.

Customisation Without the Premium Price

One of the best things about 2024 is the range of options available to fit any budget. At Morgan & Co, we offer fully customisable engagement rings that allow you to choose from a variety of metals — 14ct, and 18ct yellow, rose, or white gold, as well as platinum. You can also choose between natural and cultured diamonds, both of which offer beauty and quality at different price points. This flexibility ensures that we can create something truly special without going overboard on cost. We don't recommend 9ct gold for engagement rings, however they are a good choice for necklaces, pendants, earring, bracelets and other pieces of jewellery.

Other Factors to Consider

Don’t forget to factor in additional costs like insurance, which we always recommend for peace of mind. There’s also the option of adding custom engraving or selecting a matching wedding band, which can influence the total investment.

It’s important to remember that while the ring is a symbol of your love and commitment, the price tag doesn’t define its value. The thought and care you put into choosing or designing the ring speak far more than the dollar amount spent.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, the "right" amount to spend on an engagement ring is deeply personal and depends on your financial situation, your partner’s preferences, and what feels comfortable for you. At Morgan & Co, we believe that everyone deserves a beautiful, meaningful ring no matter their budget. With the variety of options available today, from diamonds to metals, and custom designs, we can create something perfect that doesn’t break the bank.

If you’re unsure where to start or what budget to set, feel free to book a consultation with us. We’re here to help you navigate this special purchase and ensure you walk away with something that will be cherished for a lifetime.

7 Essential Tips for Planning the Perfect Overseas Proposal

7 Essential Tips for Planning the Perfect Overseas Proposal

Many of our clients at Morgan & Co Jewellery plan to propose to their loved one on an overseas holiday. This is such an exciting time, however with some trepidation, how does one travel with such an expensive piece of jewellery? Travelling overseas with an engagement ring can be a bit tricky, but with some planning, you can ensure your engagement ring travels safely and that your proposal remains a surprise, if that's your goal.

Here are some tips and tricks that have worked for our clients at Morgan & Co for an overseas proposal —

1. Keep it in your carry-on or personal bag

Never pack the ring in checked luggage. There’s always a risk of lost luggage or mishandling, so keep the ring with you in a secure spot like your carry-on or on your person. Here at Morgan Co we provide our clients with a discreet small padded box that will protect the ring from damage and is small enough to not draw attention.

2. Get travel insurance

Before you go, make sure your ring is insured. Morgan & Co recommends Q Report jewellery insurance. We can unload all the relevant information that Q Report needs for your convenience. Insurance should cover loss, theft or damage.

3. Be prepared for airport security

When going through security, it’s possible that your bag may be flagged. If you’re worried about spoiling the surprise, consider letting the security staff know quietly that you have an engagement ring in the bag so they can handle it discreetly. Avoid wearing it through the metal detector as that might draw unnecessary attention.

4. Keep it in a discreet location

If you're travelling with your partner and want to keep it a surprise, store the ring in a place they’re unlikely to check, like a hidden compartment in your carry-on, inside a toiletry bag.

5. Consider a travel decoy

Some people choose to buy a simple decoy ring box that doesn’t look like an engagement ring case. This way, it won’t draw any attention during travel if your partner happens to see it.

6. Make sure it’s secure at your destination

Once you arrive at your destination, if you don’t plan to propose right away,  store the ring securely. There are many places you can hide the ring, however many of the places are also well known to the unscrupulous. Such as inside your smelly runners, under the mattress, you get the idea. The better option is to use the hotel safe.

We recommend that you propose as soon as possible because the most secure place for that beautiful ring is on her finger.

7. Another Option — use a placeholder ring

The number one way to take the anxiety out of travelling with that expensive engagement ring is to propose with a replica, or placeholder, ring. Morgan & Co can create an exact replica of the original ring. or you can choose one of our ready made stunt rings to propose with.

Using a replica or placeholder engagement ring is an excellent way to reduce the anxiety of travelling with a valuable piece of jewellery, especially when travelling internationally. It is also a wonderful way to keep the surprise and romance and when you return from your holiday you can design your forever ring together. Win-win!

Book your free consultation to discuss your placeholder or replica ring.

Why Use a Replica Engagement Ring?

Eliminate Risk — Travelling with a valuable ring can be stressful, especially if you’re concerned about loss, theft, or damage. With a replica, you can focus on enjoying your trip without constantly worrying about the safety of the original ring.

Perfect for Proposals Abroad — If you're planning a destination proposal, a replica ring allows you to propose in a beautiful setting without the fear of losing a high-value item. After the proposal, you can give the real engagement ring when you return home.

Peace of Mind at Customs — Some countries may require you to declare expensive jewellery at customs. A replica ring can help you avoid the hassle and paperwork.

Identical Design — Morgan & Co specialise in crafting exact replicas of your engagement ring, down to the finest details. Your partner won’t notice the difference in the moment, making the experience just as special. Or, choose a placeholder ring and design the real thing together when you return from your travels!

Insurance Savings — With a replica, you don’t have to worry about additional insurance costs for travelling with the original ring.

How to Use the Replica Strategy

Before the Trip —  Morgan & Co can  create an exact replica of the engagement ring. Ensure that it looks and feels similar, so the proposal moment is just as magical.

After the Proposal — Once you’ve proposed and the trip is over, you can present the original ring back home in a more controlled, less stressful environment.

Loss or theft Overseas

So what happens if you lose or the ring is stolen overseas?

Majority of travellers buy travel insurance which will cover some personal items depending on the policy taken out. However, there are some limitations you need to understand, for example, your travel insurance policy may not fully cover certain types of high-value jewellery, such as engagement rings.

Morgan & Co strongly recommended their clients to take up jewellery insurance whether you are travelling overseas or not.

Emma & Richard’s Romantic Maleny Wedding: An Unforgettable Day

Emma & Richard’s Romantic Maleny Wedding: An Unforgettable Day

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Emma and Richard, a newlywed couple who entrusted us with creating their custom engagement ring and wedding bands. It was a privilege to be a part of their love story and witness their unique vision come to life. From their unforgettable wedding day in Maleny to the intimate details of their rings, their journey was nothing short of beautiful. In this interview, they share their wedding day memories, the process of creating their rings, and the joy of beginning their forever together.

The Big Day

How did you feel waking up on the morning of your wedding?

Emma — "Very excited, and a little bit nervous. It felt a bit surreal that the day had finally arrived!"

Rich — "I was nervous! Not about things going wrong as we had planned everything pretty well but more that I would mess up my lines or forget something! In the end saying “I do” was the easiest thing in the world."

What was the first thing you did on your wedding day?

Emma — 'I had spent the night before with my bridesmaids and grandmother and mother staying at our place, so the first thing I did was sneak into the spare room and jump on the bed in excitement with my two best friends, Alex and Carly."

Rich — "Checked to make sure I had the rings for the 700th time and checked to make sure my tux was clean for the 500th!"

What was the most emotional moment of the day for each of you?

Emma — "The speeches. Hearing our friends and family congratulate us and express their love to us was definitely emotional for me, being surrounded by our nearest and dearest and feeling the love was something I'll never forget."

Rich — "The happiest moment was the ceremony for me. It was so exciting and incredible to finally tie the knot and I still cannot get over how stunning Em looked on the day, I didn’t think she could get more beautiful than she already is.

Another emotional moment was giving my speech. I struggled through it and I think it really hit me while I was saying it to realise just how grateful I was to be in that room with those people. It hit me all at once and I was overwhelmed with love."

Was there a moment that took your breath away?

Emma - "When Rich turned around at the end of the aisle and saw me for the first time in my dress."

Rich - "I don’t know if there was one moment exactly, seeing how perfectly everything had come together and the beautiful day we had, watching Em walk down the aisle, dancing together for the first time as husband and wife, celebrating with our family and friends. I only took a breath for the first time late into the night!"

Wedding Vendors & Your Experience

Which vendors did you choose for your wedding (venue, photographer, florist, etc) and how did you find them?

Venue — Maleny Manor: We had visited the venue and loved it as well as the stylists and florists they use (Lovebirds Weddings and Mondo Florals).

Photographer — Lillie Hamblin Photography: Em had seen some of Lillies work on instagram and loved that she shot in both digital and film, this was something that we really wanted for our images of the day and she was absolutely incredible.

Videography — Joel and Courtney Videography: Our friends Keeghan and Tilli used Joel and Courtney at their wedding last year and we loved the video they did, as well as the fact they shot in Super 8 film.

Celebrant — Hayley Hart Celebrant: Sunshine Coast Wedding Expo

Rings — Morgan & Co: Sunshine Coast Wedding Expo

Did any vendor exceed your expectations? How did they make your day special?

"Honestly all of them, we were very picky with who we wanted to choose and did a lot of research into each one to make sure they understood our vision and we liked their vibe. We cannot express how perfect every single vendor was and how much fun we had planning our special day with them."

Is there any advice you would give other couples when choosing their vendors?

"Take your time getting to know the vendors before making a decision, it is so important to have a relationship with them as they will be the ones organising what may be the biggest day of your life. Make sure their work matches your vision, there are so many unique and special aspects of a wedding that we envision and sometimes our style might be different to a vendors, just because they're the “best” or recommended by someone doesn't mean they will execute that vision as well for you as they have other couples."

The Dress

Tell us about the moment you found the dress. How did you know it was the one?

Em — "I found my dress at a sample sale that Sphere Bridal was holding. I got there early with my best friend and tried to not have any expectations. We had a maximum of 15 minutes to go through all the dresses and try them on, my dress was the second dress that I tried on, it fit me perfectly, needed no alterations and I absolutely fell in love."

What was your partner’s reaction when they saw you in your dress for the first time?

"I’ll be honest it was a bit of a blur because I was so overcome with emotion but: perfection."

Rich — "Just how perfect the dress was for Em. I had an idea of what kind of style she might go for as I know her taste pretty well but it absolutely blew me away how perfect it was for her, she looked so beautiful and I couldn't have felt luckier to be about to marry her."

The Rings

Can you share the story behind your engagement ring and wedding bands?

Rich — "Originally I had proposed to Em with her grandmother's ring, she had always wanted this and I had to ask her parents for it as well. And though she loved her grandmothers ring it wasn't quite her style so as I was designing my own wedding band we also decided to design a new engagement ring for Em. Morgan and Laura had a stone that we loved but we just couldn't quite decide on the setting, Em was indecisive as she really wanted the stone to be north/south facing in a bezel seating but we felt the stone perhaps deserved to be a bit more solitary as it was so beautiful. We had it on a little ring clamp to play around with and Laura said “Let me just try something…” and she flipped the stone to east/west. Em was immediately in love with it. It is so unique and special to her and she couldn't stop looking at pictures of it on her hand while we waited for it to be made!

Similarly I had some rough ideas about my ring but needed Morgan and Laura's guidance to make it perfect. I wanted a signet ring that was a bit unique and I wanted to feature a diamond that belonged to my late grandmother in it. I had a few designs that I liked but we struggled with the placement of the stone, they did up a few sketches and we refined it until finally I was happy. I even wore it often before the wedding day!"

View Richard's Ring and Emma's Ring.

How did you choose your wedding bands?

Rich — "Em wanted a band that would stylistically not take away from the engagement ring so she went with a classic cigar band that compliments it perfectly."

Memorable Moments

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Em - "The first thing that comes to mind is the last dance, we had already said our goodbyes to everyone and for our last dance everyone wrapped us in crepe paper (an Italian tradition) before we left. It just felt so intimate and special."

Did anything unexpected happen that made the day even more memorable?

Rich - "We met our nephew for the first time! My sister had been due two days before the wedding so for a lot of months we had no idea if her and her family would be able to make it or not but little Ollie arrived a week early and we got to meet him and celebrate together."

The Funniest Moments

What was the funniest thing that happened during your wedding day?

Em — "Maybe not something that was individually funny but something that provided a lot of entertainment and laughs afterwards was the phonebook we had. A company called Glad you Called supplies vintage style phones for guests to leave a short message and then they compile it and send you the audio. It was great hearing heartfelt messages from everyone but also hearing how they got sillier as the night went on!"

Rich - "My sisters wrote a very funny poem about Em and I and our relationship revolving around the fact that I as a chef love butter and Em as a dietician has to limit our consumption."

Did any of your guests surprise you with a funny or touching moment?

Rich - "My sisters and I have matching jumpers that we made when we were teenagers, when Steph got married Kim and I made one for her husband, and Kim and Steph did the same for Em in her favourite colour!"

Looking Back

Now that the wedding is over, what’s the one thing you would do all over again?

Rich — "Saying I do."

Is there anything you would change if you could do it over?

Both — "Absolutely nothing!"

The Honeymoon

Where did you go for your honeymoon, and how was it?

Rich — "Tasmania! Em got COVID on the first day but it was organised as a very cosy and relaxing honeymoon so it didn't dampen the spirits too much!"

How did it feel to finally relax and reflect on your wedding day?

Rich — "Incredible! It was so nice to 1. Finally be married and 2. Not have the stress of the wedding. I am so grateful to be able to look back on the day and feel nothing but love, gratitude and fond memories."

The Future

How does it feel to be married? Has anything changed in your relationship?

Rich — "We both love being married, it’s all the same but just feels deeper. We can’t quite articulate it because it doesn't feel like anything has really changed, but we are both just so so happy."

What are you most excited about as you begin this new chapter together?

Em —
"I am just excited to do everything together, just being together, travelling, working, hanging out at home, all of life's big ups and downs, I am excited to see Rich become a father."

Rich - "I don't necessarily see it as a new chapter because in my mind Em and I have been bound to each other for so long already, for me it is just the joy and appreciation of continuing our lives together."

Tell Us About Your Surname

"Richard Costa and Emma Lavelle both became Lavelles! We had a lot of trouble with this actually, not knowing what to do. Originally we had wanted to combine our two names as we both like our names and wanted to honour them so we had toyed with changing to “LaCosta” but unfortunately that would not have been possible if we both wanted Portuguese passports (Richards family is Portuguese) so it would have been almost impossible to get all legal documentation changed unless it was for some very specific reasons that we did not meet. The workaround was just that Richard could add Lavelle as a last name and Em would still be eligible to get citizenship through marriage, and we will give future children Costa as a middle name and Lavelle as a last name (typically a child will take on their mothers maiden name as a middle name and their fathers name as a surname so we are just flipping the tradition!)"

Thank you, it was a true honour

It was truly an honour and a pleasure to spend time with Emma and Richard throughout their journey, getting to know them as we worked together to create their custom rings. Witnessing their love story unfold and being a small part of their big day is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Thank you, Emma and Richard, for allowing us to share in your beautiful journey. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Nick & Candice's Wedding Day

We recently had the pleasure of assisting beautiful couple, Candice & Nick with creating their wedding bands.

Read on for an exclusive interview, which details their beautiful wedding day and experience with our Morgan & Co Bespoke Team.

Q: Was there anything in particular that drew you to work with us?

Once I had met you both your personable, helpful and caring demeanour made me feel confident and comfortable with the ring I would get."
